Madison businessman said to be mulling run for governor
I have to admit, I had no idea who Kevin Conroy was, when another reporter asked Governor Jim Doyle today whether he thinks Conroy would make a good candidate for governor. Conroy is President and CEO of Madison-based Exact Sciences, a molecular diagnostics company focused on colorectal cancer. Conroy moved the firm from Massachusetts to Wisconsin in June. He previously served as President and CEO of Third Wave Technologies, a molecular diagnostics company in Madison.
Oh, and Doyle gave Conroy a thumbs-up. “I think he’s a really remarkable guy,” he said. “He has been a really creative and effective business person in this state. He’s a person that has really accomplished a lot at a young age.” Conroy is 44.
